Food has always been a very important part of our lives. I remember most of our birthday celebrations not by the gifts we received, but by the sumptuous dishes my Mom made for us. Every time I returned home from US for vacations, my mom planned elaborate menu’s for my entire stay in India. Most of our weekends were spent entertaining friends and family, where preparation of lavish meal was almost always a must.

Don’t you love it when you cook your family’s favourite food or snack and  comfortably settle yourself on a cozy plush couch in the comfort of your home and enjoy the fine meal and the compliments that come your way? What about eating some great food at a great restaurant with friends and family soaking in the wonderful ambience and savoring divine delicacies.

Yeah, me too, I’m a self confessed foodie and that’s just why I plan of spending many more days here. I figure I could at least do things that I absolutely love: cooking, eating, developing recipes, styling, and writing about food. I’ve always had a passion for healthy eating and unlike what most of us think healthy eating can involve fabulous + flavor packed foods. My intention almost always is to try and cook and eat using fresh, healthy, seasonal and local ingredients. In that manner I’d like to call myself a ‘Green foodie’. My hope is that this blog will be a special place where you and I can share our love for food, just anything and everything about food. I intend to share my favorite new (and not yet created!) recipes with you and I hope to inspire you to cook, shop and eat with a healthy attitude. Thanks for reading and I hope that you visit back often!

You know how sometimes, you get the feeling as if your life is running on repeat mode? Day in and day out, things seem to take on a pretty standard routine – same TV shows, same job, same grocery shop where you end up picking same stuff every time, and the worst of all, you eat the same thing for your meals every other day! Last few days, I’ve been going through exactly this feeling. No matter what, it seemed like my cooking was getting boringly repetitive. So, one fine day I decided to bring back to life my imagination & creativity and embarked on a foodie adventure! With summer vacations already on & more time indoors I did ONE thing & lots of it! Cooking. I bought sauces, fresh veggies, condiments & whatever else was needed to bring back the zing in our meals. This of course made one person very happy, my hubby dearest! Italian, Chinese and Rajasthani cuisines have brought about a welcome change to our dinners and life in general. Variety of Soups & salads, pastas and pizzas has had the whole family beaming with delight.

Welcome to the world of blogging and food-ing
